Hannah Epstein is a lifelong singer and educator. She studied voice at Ithaca College before moving to New York City to continue building her music career. Since then, Hannah has taught vocal lessons to students of all ages. A graduate of the New York Vocal Coaching Voice Teacher Training Program, Hannah is a flexible, friendly, and dependable teacher. She has over 20 years of singing experience and is trained in all styles, including pop, jazz, rock, and musical theater.
With a decade of childcare experience under her belt, Hannah loves working with all ages to develop their unique sound. She’s passionate about helping students at all stages of their vocal journey to build their confidence. Throughout her time as a teacher, Hannah has emphasized fostering an environment where students not only feel safe enough to make experimental sounds but in fact are encouraged to engage with their silliest instincts to find their voice with confidence. This methodology encourages students young and old to slough off self judgment and celebrate making sound regardless of quality. Hannah also has experience coaching her students for various auditions, from the school musical to college programs to Broadway shows.
Before becoming a vocal educator, Hannah worked for over 10 years in professional childcare. Her experience working with hundreds of different children granted her the ability to adapt to different personalities in order to create the best learning environment for each student. To Hannah, teaching is more than a profession. It is a passion to give others the ability to express themselves through song, to grant the confidence to share their expression with others, and to provide the self esteem required to learn a new skill.
Hannah is a budding singer/songwriter in the folk rock style. Some of her songwriting influences are artists like Mitski, Adrianne Lenker, and Fiona Apple. You can often find her at open mics and rooftop concerts throughout the city, playing her original music and accompanying herself on acoustic guitar.
