David Truilo is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and educator from Daytona Beach, Florida. He started playing clarinet at age 11 and from there picked up the saxophone and the flute. David moved to New York City to earn his bachelors in jazz saxophone at The New School. While there he studied with John Ellis, Myron Walden and Aaron Goldberg. He now performs regularly in NYC as well as in Europe, having recently performed at the Copenhagen Jazz Festival.
David began teaching while he was still in high school and has six years of experience teaching both privately and at schools around New York. He has taught children and adults and can teach all levels, from beginner to advanced. David has the ability to teach across genres, building a strong classical foundation while introducing improvisation and jazz/pop.
