Analise Levesque recently moved to NYC to pursue her master’s degree in Jazz Piano Performance at Queens College. She is a multi-hyphenate musician, working as an educator as well as a composer and improviser. In the spring of 2023, she graduated from the University of Minnesota-Duluth summa cum laude with her Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies and Music Theory/Composition.

She loves working with kids and has three years of experience teaching piano. Her students range from young beginners to intermediate jazz pianists. She finds it especially rewarding to prepare students for recitals, after watching her parents, who were both piano teachers, do the same while she was growing up. Her favorite thing about teaching is when her students begin to make music, not just play the piano. She loves connecting with children and getting to watch them grow as musicians and human beings.

Analise also loves musical theatre and has three years of experience music directing a wide range of theatrical productions, from educational to professional. Additionally, she composes for musical theatre and had her first original musical, “Change,” premiere in January 2022 at the University of Minnesota-Duluth’s Weber Music Hall.

As a jazz pianist, Analise has led her own jazz trio for two years, which has played professionally at venues across the Midwest such as Jazz Central Studios (Minneapolis, MN) and the Eau Claire Summer Jazz Crawl. She recently released her first album of entirely original jazz compositions, entitled “Where I Am Right Now.”

Analise’s original compositions have won her various achievements: She was a National Finalist in the 2016 MTNA Composition Competition and won the West Central Region Senior Age Division. She hopes to compose for Broadway musicals one day.
